There's a call to go absentee ballot because of the fear of vote tampering via electronic voting devices. I'd caution folks against this. The most prevalent medium for vote tampering and election fraud are absentee ballots.
They are the easiest form of balloting for manipulation, and despite what some folks seem to think, they are really the least reliable way to ensure that your vote was counted.
Though there is a question about paper trail and electronic voting, there is at least proof of your admission to the polling place. If there is any kind of descrepancy in regards to elections, one of the first items checked are the sign ins vs votes cast. There is less proof that your absentee ballot was received, let alone that it was actually counted.
Using an absentee ballot actually benefits those who are inclined to vote tampering.
